Box Tops Contest

Box Tops Contest

Welcome to the Box Tops for Education (BTFE) program for the 2017-2018 school year! Our September contest deadline is October 13th (because we’re starting late!)

Families may collect Box Tops clips from any product with the Box Tops logo. Each clip is worth 10¢. That amount may seem small, but, since joining the program, Brookvale has earned $7,164.63! Those little clips add up! As an added incentive, the classroom that submits the most Box Tops each month will win two playground balls!

To participate:

  1. Collect Box Tops and attach them to the Box Top collection sheet or gather clips in a baggie.
  2. Bring all collected Box Tops (partially filled sheets are fine) to school to submit to the teacher.
  3. Include the teacher’s name or classroom number.

Hints:

  1. Watch for expiration dates. Expired Box Tops are not accepted by BTFE.
  2. Submit Box Tops each month. Submit regularly to avoid having the clips expire.

Thank you for your taking the time to read about the program and collect all of those little pieces of cardboard! All money earned is sent to the Brookvale PTA and used to support our students.

October 19th – Diwali flash mob

October 19th – Diwali flash mob

Want to practice the Diwali dance at home? Here is a video to help you:

UPDATE: The Diwali flash mob has been RESCHEDULED for October 19th, 8am!

Brookvale PTA is planning a fun-filled Indian style “flash mob” on Thursday, October 12th 19th at 8am. We want to mark this very auspicious time in various Indian traditions and would like adults and children to participate in this celebration. Indian and non-Indian are most welcome!

Diwali is of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Considering the series tragically events happened nationwide recently, our Diwali celebration next Thu echoes Diwali’s essence. Teachers may take this opportunity to explore this beautiful cultural topic in their classrooms. Traditional Indian costumes are encouraged as far as they won’t interfere with normal school activities.

To participate, please join our committee Diwali Flash Mob on Konstella or email us at supdeepak@gmail.com or ritikaaulakh@yahoo.com

The Bronco GallopBrookvale’s only major fundraiser, is on Friday, October 13th. All money raised goes directly to support teachers, classrooms, school equipment, school-wide assemblies, STEM and cultural events, art and music enrichment, and more.

All students participate and all students bene t! We are asking for at-rate “sponsorships” at $5, $10, $20, and $100 levels, or any amount a sponsor is willing give. Students can ask family, friends, and neighbors to sponsor them.

Instead of a raffle, this year Brookvale PTA will treat the entire school to a just-for-fun special assembly (tbd) if we reach our school-wide goal of $35,000. And just think: If every student can raise $100 in sponsorships, we could double our goal and have over $70,000 to spend for our school!

Please look for details and pledge sheet coming home in your Thursday folder. Brookvale has always relied on and is extremely grateful to our wonderfully generous parent community. Thank you!
