FUSD Survey
Hello Parents,
Yesterday at the PTA meeting, Mrs. Hicks-Rodriguez talked about the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
What is LCFF and LCAP? In brief – it is a formula that shifts the decision of how school funds are allocated to the school districts and away from the state level. Here are two presentations one from FUSD and the other from the CA-PTA.

In our case, FUSD will have more inputs on how the funds are distributed with the district. But this also comes with increased accountability and parental involvement. The first part of which is a survey that parents are asked to complete. The survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/
The deadline to complete the survey is February 21st. Please take time to fill out this survey. Thank you!
Teacher Appreciation Week Planning Committee
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming in May! We are looking for some fresh faces and new ideas. Please email Rebecca Christman at rlchristman@comcast.net if you would like to be a part of the planning committee. Thanks!
Founders Day is March 11th
Nomination forms due before February 18th.
Brookvale will celebrate the PTA Founders Day on March 11th. Look for the nomination forms in your Thursday folder or download here. Please use this form to nominate individuals who have gone above and beyond for our Brookvale students (The nominee should be recognized for outstanding service to children and youth and not for routine, assigned responsibilities or for retirement.) Please return the form to your child’s teacher or to the office BEFORE February 28. The nomination committee will select the final awardees.
Congratulations, Advay!
Brookvale’s own Advay Chatterji was selected to represent the Musical Composition category for Reflections competition at the STATE LEVEL! This is an incredible accomplishment to have students from our school go this far two years in a row! Go Brookvale! Go Advay!
