Bronco Gallop – October 17th

Are you ready to gallop? We are gearing up for our only major fundraiser for the 2014-15 school year, the Bronco Gallop, on Friday, October 17th. Please encourage your kids to ask family and friends for pledges. Our goal is $65 per student! Your participation will enable Brookvale to provide a wide assortment of programs and events that enrich our children’s education and continue our school’s tradition of outstanding achievement.

We are also encouraging all families to take advantage of their employer’s donation matching program. This is a major source of funds for the PTA. We are a registered non-profit (#94-2931862) per IRS Code Section 501(c) (3). All donations to the Brookvale PTA are 100% tax- deductible. A partial list of companies that participate can be found here. If you do not see your company on the list, please ask if Brookvale PTA can be added to their donation matching program.

Friday, October 17, 2014 in Brookvale’s Multipurpose Room. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Movie starts at 6:30 p.m.

Please bring change if you wish to purchase:
$2 — hot dogs, nachos, pizza
$1 — popcorn, soda, water, snacks

Come join us for a night of fun and don’t forget to bring your pillows, blankets or lounge chairs!

CHILDREN ARE NOT TO BE DROPPED OFF. PARENTS MUST ACCOMPANY THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES!

After School Activities

As those of you on the Yahoo email group know, there has been a lot of interest in increasing the number of after school activities offered at Brookvale this year. Discussions have brought up ideas like Debate, Lego Robotics, Math Olympiad, and others.

Mrs. Hicks-Rodriguez has said that all requests should come directly to her, not through the PTA. Because these activities are using school facilities, they will require insurance, by district policy. Any parents who have found a group or activity that has insurance ($1 million policy) can apply directly to Mrs. Hicks-Rodriguez. She will let you know what rooms and times are available at the school. Mrs. Hicks-Rodriguez can provide the parents with more details if required. Her email is chicks-rodriguez@fremont.k12.ca.us.

Family Science Night – October 21

Next Tuesday, October 21st is Family Science Night at Brookvale.

We are looking for a few parent volunteers that are willing to help out on Science Night.

Arrive at 5:45 for booth orientation.

Stay until 6:15 to help with clean-up.

Everything is provided, no background in science required.

Togo’s and Baskin Robbins

Togo’s and Baskin Robbins is partnering with the Brookvale PTA for a dine-out fundraiser for the week of September 21-27, and will give 15% of any purchase back to Brookvale PTA.
